On Feb. 9, at 12:33 p.m., students at CUNY’s Brooklyn College received an alert from CUNY about police investigating a shooting nearby.

According to New York Police Department Detective Marlene Muniz from the Office of The Deputy Commissioner, Public Information, there was one round fired at 11:41 a.m., and no one was injured.

The bullet pierced the window of the Chipotle franchise located at 2166 Nostrand Ave., just one block from the Brooklyn College campus.

The suspects, Muniz said, were two Black male teens. One perpetrator was described to be wearing a black hood, black pants, and white sneakers. The other had a vest on.

According to Muniz, both suspects fled southbound on Nostrand Avenue. No suspects were apprehended.

At about 2 p.m., a Chipotle employee was seen cleaning the debris from the earlier incident.

At approximately 3 p.m., students received a second notification stating that all investigations by the NYPD had concluded and that the area was deemed safe.
