Delay in Brooklyn Trial of Queens Man Accused of Killing Security Guard

A Brooklyn court hearing for a Queens native charged with killing one security guard and shooting another was adjourned on Thursday till November 30th.

The prosecutor told Justice Martin P. Murphy that the delays in the case against Antonio Mahon were caused by wating for DNA results and the discovery of a new surveillance video pertaining to the trial.

The incident occurred on March 28, 2014 outside a housing project in Brownsville where 30-year-old security guard Aaron Locklear, was shot in the neck and died in the hospital. The other security guard, 28-year-old James Merced was shot in the back.

No motive has been given for the shooting or how the police department’s violent felony squad found Mahon.
