Jury selection continued on Tuesday for the trial of three men charged with six drug-related murders, one of whom is rapper Lil’ Kim’s ex-boyfriend.

Brooklyn Federal Judge Frederic Block indicated that the jury would be selected by Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.

Lil’ Kim’s former squeeze Damion “World” Hardy and his co-defendants were arrested in 2004 for forming a murderous Bedford Stuyvesant drug ring called Cash Money Brothers. Hardy is going on trial for six murders that he allegedly committed to avenge the killing of his brother, Myron Hardy, in 1999.

Last May, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder ordered prosecutors to drop the death penalty against Hardy, whose schizophrenia and paranoia have been points of controversy since he was arrested. Judge Block had also signed an order allowing prison officers to forcibly medicate Hardy in order to calm him down.

According to Brooklyn federal prosecutors, Hardy had been contacting ex-girlfriends Lil Kim and Foxy Brown for money to hire high-profile lawyer Benjamin Brafman. Brafman had previously represented rapper P.Diddy, football player Plaxico Burress, and former head of the International Monetary Fund Dominique Strauss-Kahn.
