Federal Prosecutors Spearhead Right to Vote Effort

The U.S Attorney of Brooklyn and Manhattan  announced on Thursday that they would join forces to help ensure that voters can lawfully cast their ballots in the November election “without fear of fraud”.

The joint effort by Manhattan U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss Brooklyn Acting U.S. Attorney Seth DuCharme was launched by the appointment of district officers to manage any complaints of election fraud or  voting rights infringements and concerns as mandated by the U.S. Department of Justice nationwide election program.

“Every citizen must be able to vote without interference or discrimination and to have that vote counted without it being stolen because of fraud,” the two federal officials said in a joint statement. “The Department of Justice will always act appropriately to protect the integrity of the election process.”

 With election day less than two weeks away, the U.S attorneys appointed Assistant United States Attorneys Erik Paulsen of the Eastern district and David J. Kennedy of the Southern district to serve as District Election officers. Their jobs are to reassure New York residents that they will not be faced with intimidation, harassment, bribery or any kind of fraud or impersonation that will impede them from exercising their fifteenth amendment rights
