The world famous Rockettes kicked up some holiday cheer at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital on Tuesday.

Garden of Dreams, an organization based in Madison Square Garden partnered with New York-Presbyterian to bring over 600 gifts to children receiving treatment at the hospital, many from life-threatening illnesses. The gifts were donated to the MSG organization on the opening night of this year’s Christmas Spectacular. Garden of Dreams, which has been running for the past eight years, works with the sports teams and entertainment figures to sponsor events in programs to children adversely affected by poverty, illness, or natural disasters. Aside from the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in New York-Presbyterian, the organization has also partnered with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald Houses, and the Police Athletic League.

“I’m so proud to be working with this organization and spreading holiday cheer,” said Carrie, a Rockette.

Dressed in their Christmas Spectacular candy cane costume and posing in front of a Christmas tree stretching to the ceiling, the Rockettes couldn’t have been more of an epitome of holiday spirit. Children at the event could choose from a table of toys, gifts, and dolls or even make a customized teddy bear.

Face painting and holiday-themed crafts were also available. The two Rockettes sent to represent the organization greeted the children with gift bags, and were available for photographs and hugs.

Sarah, a two-year veteran of the Rockettes, was beaming, saying, “I’m just excited to see the smile on the kids’ faces when they get their gifts!”
