Rapist Sentenced to 20 Years

Convicted rapist Jason Quinones was sentenced to 20 years prison Tuesday in Manhattan State Supreme Court, after pleading guilty last May to first degree rape and another sexual assault, both on the Upper East Side.

Quinones was arrested in August 2011 after he crawled into a first floor window of an E. 90 St. apartment and raped a sleeping woman, who awoke during the attack.

Fingerprints left on the victim’s window matched DNA from an earlier drug arrest. air max 90 The prints were linked to an earlier incident where the defendant forced his way into another woman’s apartment on E. 83st., sexually assaulting her while he was on parole.

“I followed the girl to her apartment,” Quinones admitted in a soft voice in a hushed courtroom. “I pushed my way. There was a brief struggle.”

He then also admitted raping the second victim, which took place barely a month after the first attack. He watched the woman through her first floor window on E. 90 St, and then crawled through the window and raped her. “I saw the girl was sleeping” Quinones said.

Quinones first had told his probation officer that the sexual encounters with the two women were consensual but later retracted that statement, admitting that the two victims were strangers.

As the sentence was pronounced, his mother quietly cried in the back of the courtroom.
